Casa Rwego is a family-run guesthouse operation in Remera, Kigali, Rwanda, offering apartment stays, car rental, and custom trip planning. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Quote and trip planner forms: when you request a car rental quote or a custom trip plan, we collect your name, email address, phone number, travel dates, and the preferences you tell us (car type, group size, interests, budget, notes). We use this only to answer your request and arrange the services you asked for.

Document uploads: guests with a booking code can upload documents such as ID, driver's license, and payment confirmations at /documents. These are linked to your booking and used to verify your stay or rental. They're stored in a private storage area only the Casa Rwego team can access.

Concierge chat: when you chat with the assistant on this site, your messages are processed by a third-party AI service (Xiaomi's MiMo) to generate the replies. Please don't share more personal information in the chat than needed — for bookings and sensitive details, talk to us directly on WhatsApp.

Technical data: like almost every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard technical logs such as IP address and pages visited, used for security and reliability. We don't run advertising or tracking on this site.

This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookie is a session cookie for our own team's admin dashboard — guests browsing the site aren't tracked.

We only share your information with services we need to run the site and serve you: Vercel (website hosting and document storage), Resend (sending you email confirmations and quote replies), and Xiaomi's MiMo AI (processing concierge chat messages). If you book through Airbnb, Airbnb's own privacy policy applies to that booking.

We never sell your personal information, and we don't use it for marketing you didn't ask for.

We keep quote requests and trip plans as long as needed to handle them and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Uploaded documents are kept for as long as needed for your booking and any legal record-keeping duties. All personal data associated with a guest booking is deleted within 30 days of the booking ending. If you'd like something deleted sooner, just ask.

You can ask us at any time to show you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Message Alan or Melaine on WhatsApp and we'll take care of it promptly. We handle personal data under Rwanda's data protection law and good old-fashioned common sense.

If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and the date below. The current version always lives here.
